Saving the current document as non-EVDOC

You can save your documents as the following popular formats:

Raster only format

Vector and Raster hybrid format

BMP

CGM

GIF

EMF

JPG

PDF

PNG

SVG

TIF

SVGZ

 

WMF

 

EVDOC is the native file format for the application. It is recommended that all of your works should be always saved in EVDOC to edit them in future.

 

To Save Documents in Non-EVDOC

  1. Select the File tab of the Ribbon.

  2. Select Export from Backstage View.

  3. Select a format that you want to save the document as from Save as type drop-list in the Save As dialog box.

  4. Navigate to a folder in which you want to save the document.

  5. Type a file name.

  6. Click Export Options. The Export Options dialog box of the selected raster format will be displayed.

  7. Set the options and click OK.

  8. Select the Open file after save checkbox if you want to check the output in the default application to open the selected format file. Otherwise, deselect the checkbox.

  9. Click Save.

The settings in the Export Options dialog box are remembered for the current session until the application is closed. If you use the same settings, you do not have to set them subsequently.

          

Export Options – Raster Formats (General)

Option

Description

Export range

Select either All pages ,Current page, Selected objects radio button.

Skip hidden pages

When there is a hidden page in your document, this checkbox gets enabled. When you want not to save hidden pages, select this option.

Use objects’ bounds

When you want to export each page in the minimum selection bounds, select this option. Otherwise, each page size is used.

Create a folder

When you want to create a folder and save the files in that folder, select this option. The folder will be created in the current document name.

 

Export Options – Raster Formats (Image)

Option

Description

Resolution

Set a resolution of image exported be between 1 to 1200.

Color Mode

Select either RGB Color or Grayscale. For GIF, Indexed Color or Grayscale.

Interpolation

Select one from the following:

  • Bilinear

  • Triangle

  • Bell

  • BSpline

  • Bicubic

  • Lanczos

  • Mitchell

Antialiasing

Select this checkbox to apply antialiasing that makes the edges of rendered vector objects and text objects smoother.

Transparency

This checkbox is available for PNG or TIF. Select this checkbox to make areas that are not occupied by pixels or objects transparent in exported images.

 

To Save as CGM

  1. Select File tab of the Ribbon.

  2. Select Export.

  3. Select CGM – Computer Graphics Metafile (*.cgm) from Save as type drop-list in the Save As dialog box.

  4. Navigate to a folder to which you want to save your document.

  5. Type a file name.

  6. Click Export options. The CGM Export Options dialog box will be displayed.

  7. Set the options.

  8. Click OK.

  9. Click Save.

          

 

CGM Export Options

CGM

CGM version

Select a version from Version 1Version 2Version 3Version 4 (WebCGM). If your original document was Version 4 (WebCGM), be sure to select this version for export so that any imported data is preserved in the exported file.

Compliance

Select either NoneCALS (MIL-D-28003A), or ATA (version 2) radio button.

VDC Precision

Select either 16 Bit Integer or 32 Bit Fixed from the drop-down list.

Scaling Mode

Select either Abstract or Metric(mm) from the drop-down list.

Beziers as polygons

If objects contain a fill ink, select this option to preserve it. All Beziers will export as polygons. If this option is deselected and the objects are exported as Beziers, the fill color is removed.

Export layer as picture

If selected, each layer is exported as a separate image. If deselected, the file will be exported as one image.

Export paint (bitmap) objects

If the current file contains image objects, select this option to export them. Deselect this option if you do not want to export the image objects.

Select either All pages or Current page radio button.

When there is a hidden page in your document, this checkbox gets enabled. When you want not to save hidden pages, select this option.

Create a folder

When you want to create a folder and save the files in that folder, select this option. The folder will be created in the current document name.

To Save as PDF

  1. Select File tab of the Ribbon.

  2. Select Export.

  3. Select PDF – Adobe® Acrobat® (*.pdf) from Save as type drop-list in the Save As dialog box.

  4. Navigate to a folder to which you want to save your document.

  5. Type a file name.

  6. Click Export options. The PDF Export Options dialog box will be displayed.

  7. Set the options.

  8. Click OK.

  9. Click Save.

     

 

PDF Export Options

Option

Description

General

Export Layers (PDF 1.5)

Select this checkbox to render objects with transparency on each layer separately.

Render the entire page

Select this checkbox to render the entire page.

Export Range

Select one either Entire DocumentSelected ObjectsCurrent Page, or Specific Pages from the drop-down list. When you select Specific Pages, set the page range like 1-4, or 3, 5.

Output

Transparency

Select PDF transparency(1.5) to have the PDF handle the transparency in the document. Select Render transparency to allow the application to handle the rendering of transparency.

Rendering Area

When Render transparency is selected, the Rendering Area drop-down gets enabled. Any transparency or effects on objects must be rendered upon export. Select either one:

Smallest - rendering the smallest area (only the object with transparency and the edges it touches).

Complete - rendering the complete area (the object with transparency and anything it touches).

Render Resolution

Choose the resolution for rendering from 7296144300600 dpi.

Font embedding

  • Embed subset: Embeds all of the fonts used in the document, as best as possible.

  • Convert to paths: Converts all of the text to paths.

Export printable hidden layers

Select this checkbox to export layers that are set printable, but hidden.

Security

Require password to open document

Select this checkbox to set the password in order to open the exported PDF file. Type the same password strings in the following fields:

  • Enter password

  • Confirm password

Use password to set restrictions

 

Select this checkbox to enable the use of your password for defining the following permission levels:

Type the same password strings in the following fields:

  • Enter password

  • Confirm password

 

Printing allowed

Select the printing resolution from the drop-down list.

  • None

  • Low resolution (150 dpi)

  • High resolution

Changes allowed

Select the kind of changes you would like to allow from the drop-down list.

  • None

  • Inserting, deleting, and rotating pages

  • Commenting

  • Any except extracting pages

Enable copying of content

Select this checkbox to allow to copy any content in the PDF.

Enable text access for accessibility

Select this checkbox to enable screen reader devices to access the text in order to allow visually impaired users to use assistive technology and to read the PDF document aloud.

 

To Save as EMF

  1. Select File tab of the Ribbon.

  2. Select Export.

  3. Select EMF – Enhanced Meta File (*.emf) from Save as type drop-list in the Save As dialog box.

  4. Navigate to a folder to which you want to save your document.

  5. Type a file name.

  6. Click Export options. The EMF Export Options dialog box will be displayed.

  7. Set the options.

  8. Click OK.

  9. Click Save.

          

 

EMF/WMF Export Options

Select either Save vector object(s) or Save as image radio button.

Resolution

When Save as image is selected the following options get enabled.

Screen/96 dpi

Select this radio button to set the image resolution 96 dpi for viewing on screen.

Print/300 dpi

Select this radio button to set the image resolution 300 dpi for printing.

Other Resolution

Select this radio button when you want to specify the resolution.

Antialiasing

Select this checkbox to apply antialiasing that makes the edges of rendered vector objects and text objects smoother.

General

  3. Select WMF – Windows Meta File (*.wmf) from Save as type drop-list in the Save As dialog box.

  4. Navigate to a folder to which you want to save your document.

  5. Type a file name.

  6. Click Export options. The WMF Export Options dialog box will be displayed.

  7. Set the options.

  8. Click OK.

  9. Click Save.

The WMF Import Options is the same as the EMF Import Options.

 

To Save as SVG

  1. Select File tab of the Ribbon.

  2. Select Export.

  3. Select SVG – Scalable Vector Graphic (*.svg) from Save as type drop-list in the Save As dialog box.

  4. Navigate to a folder to which you want to save your document.

  5. Type a file name.

  6. Click Export options. The SVG Export Options dialog box will be displayed.

  7. Set the options.

  8. Click OK.

  9. Click Save.

          

 

SVG/SVGZ Export Options

Option

Description

Image

Image Format

Select either JPEG or PNG from the drop-down list.

JPEG Quality

Select one from:

  • Best: Least compression (100% quality)

  • Fine: 90% quality

  • Good: 75% quality

  • Draft: Most compression (50% quality)

Antialiasing

Select this checkbox to apply antialiasing that makes the edges of rendered vector objects and text objects smoother.

Images location

Select one of the radio buttons:

  • Put in the same folder as SVG file

  • Put in subfolder

  • Embed images in SVG file

General

Export range

Select either All pages ,Current page, Selected objects radio button.

All pages in one file

When the current document has more than one page, this checkbox gets enabled. When you want to save all pages in one SVG file, select this option.

 

To Save as SVGZ

  2. Select Export.

  3. Select SVGZ – Scalable Vector Graphic (*.svg) from Save as type drop-list in the Save As dialog box.

  4. Navigate to a folder to which you want to save your document.

  5. Type a file name.

  6. Click Export options. The SVGZ Export Options dialog box will be displayed.

  7. Set the options.

  8. Click OK.

  9. Click Save.

The SVG Import Options is the same as the SVGZ Import Options.
