You can add page number which dynamically changes per page to your document. You can place it anywhere, but it is recommended to place it on the Master Page.
Select the Text tool from the Place & Draw panel in the Home tab of the Ribbon.
Click at the place that you want to add the page number.
Click the Page Number drop-down list from the Insert panel in the Text contextual tab of the Ribbon.
Select either Page Number or Page / Total Page.
When you exit the Text edit mode, the actual page will be displayed there.
Example
|
|
##p is inserted by Page Number command. |
The actual page number is displayed when the text object is deselected. |
|
|
##r is inserted by Page / Total Page command. |
The actual page number / total page number is displayed when the text object is deselected. |
|
You can also type “##p” or “##r” manually instead of using the commands in the Ribbon. "##n" will display the page number in the format of "Page #" like "Page #1" or "Page #2". |
|
When
you add some static texts after the page number, 2-digit or 3-digit
numbers may overlap to the static texts. Add extra spaces between them
to adjust the space as needed. |
