You can apply “Ghost” effect to some parts so that other hidden parts can be seen through.
Example
Parts that are ghosted will look of the fixed transparency like parts with some opacity level applied, however, they will be excluded for selection in the viewport. They can be selected in the Assembly Tree pane. |
Select a part or parts that you want to ghost.
Do one of the following:
Click Ghost from the Visibility panel in the View tab of the Ribbon and select Ghost.
Right-click and select Ghost.
Press Ctrl+G.
Click at blank area in the viewport to deselect.
When you want to unghost others at the same time, you can select Ghost Selection and Unghost Others instead. |
Show the 3D Properties pane, if necessary, by selecting the 3D Properties checkbox from the Panes panel in the View tab of the Ribbon.
Deselect all.
Click the Ghost Opacity under the Object Rendering in the 3D Properties pane.
Drag the slider to set the value.
The change will be applied to all the parts with Ghost effect in the 3D Model.
Select a ghosted part or parts that you want to unghost in the Assembly Tree pane. Ghosted parts are denoted with this icon in the pane .
Do one of the following:
Click Ghost in the Ribbon and select Unghost.
Right-click and select Unghost.
Click at blank area in the viewport to deselect.
Do one of the following:
Click Ghost in the Ribbon and select Unghost All.
Right-click and select Unghost All.
Press Ctrl+U.
